Tanker shuttle supplies water at Highland fire

Highland · Nov 7, 2026, 9:34 AM

Crews from many departments ran a tanker water shuttle to supply a fire attack in Highland Township, starting around 9:38 AM. Tankers from Milford, Commerce, Lyon Township, Novi, West Bloomfield, Springfield, White Lake, Brighton and other departments took turns feeding the Highland engine, refilling at a nearby hydrant fill site and rotating in as others ran out. Around 10:35 AM the operation switched to drafting from portable pools, and by about 11:23 AM the Highland engine was told it could shut down. Crews were then told to break down the hydrant and bring all equipment back. The radio did not give a street address, what was burning or any injuries.
