Fire alarm at new construction home on Old Orchard Drive

6161 Old Orchard Drive, Bloomfield Twp · Nov 6, 2026, 9:26 AM

False alarm

It was a false alarm. Fire units responded to a residential fire alarm in the 6100 block of Old Orchard Drive in Bloomfield Township. Crews found a large two-story home that appeared to be nearly finished new construction, with an audible alarm sounding, no one home and nothing showing from outside. Crews made entry and found no fire, and a crew member reset the alarm panel breaker, but the panel still appeared to show an alarm, and crews said the alarm company would need to address it. The alarm was silenced after the homeowner was notified, and units were cleared to return to service.
