Bonfire draws commercial fire response in Waterford

4860 Midland, Waterford · Oct 30, 2026, 9:32 PM

Waterford Regional Fire dispatched several engines, rescues, a squad and a battalion chief to a reported commercial structure fire at the Waterford Montessori School on Midland (the address was also heard as Medlin). The first engine arrived and reported nothing showing, then found a large bonfire behind the pool. Command canceled the remaining units, and crews began clearing and returning to quarters. Later radio traffic gave a different address for the bonfire, 4801 Sylvester, though the radio did not say why the address differed or explain how the bonfire started.
